The Englewood Line is a 1.5 mile stretch of abandoned railroad that spans a large section of the heart of Englewood from 59th & Halsted to 59th & Damen. This elevated section is lined with trees, lush vegetation, and the site of a proposed elevated walk, bike, and run trail. Owned by the city, the proposal is to transfer the line and several adjacent lots into a community-owned land trust managed by Grow Greater Englewood. Our vision is to develop this trail in concert with the heritage and legacy of Englewood - but we need your help.

For us, it begins with the name. We are asking our members, partners, residents, and followers to submit names for the trail. What should the name reflect? Who should we name it after? How will the name signify how Englewood is Rising? As stewards, we want to facilitate the development of this space - not own it. We want to bring our collective vision to life.

So please share with your networks. If you have a name, you can post it on our Facebook Page, tweet us on Twitter, or email us at laseals@growgreater.org.
